Seminar Orang Yang Berwibawa: Ke Arah Pematuhan Yang Berterusan | October 23, 2023 | Everly Hotel, Putrajaya

Mr. Sam Tsen was among the speakers at Seminar Orang Yang Berwibawa (“Seminar for Competent Persons”), organized by the Environmental Institute of Malaysia (EIMAS) with KeSUMAS. The seminar, accredited for 6 CPD hours, was held at the Everly Hotel, Putrajaya, and brought together Competent Persons and environmental practitioners from across Malaysia. Other speakers included Dr. Abdul Rahman and Ir. Ts. Mai Zainatun Nufus of EIMAS, Pn. Azlina Othman and En. Mizhuari of the Department of Environment’s Hazardous Substances Division, and panelists Dato Serafin Woo and Ir. Dr. Siti Wahidah.

Mr. Tsen’s session covered the end-of-life treatment and disposal of scheduled waste and how Competent Persons choose the right treatment route for a given waste stream.

The seminar’s theme was that compliance is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time achievement, a point reflected in the discussions between regulators and practitioners.
